721: When organized crime was hired to beat up civilians

Came across this video the other day. It is pretty insane, and sounds like something you would read about at the beginning of the 20th century. Mob guys beating up people because they want to form a union. (On second thought, the union busting tactics by big companies in the USA are quite similar. You can watch this video by John Oliver on more of that.) Or the people trying to organize themselves against an oppressive regime. But this is 2019, Hong Kong, under Chinese control. The video is 30 minutes, but I would recommend watching it. It gives a bleak out look into what is possible if we can’t hold the people who are in charge accountable.

The battle for Hong Kong is far from over. And these tactics show they are scared and it is a serious cause.
